We remember our fellow Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice on Memorial Day. We honor their service and their sacrifice; and we mourn with the families left behind as we pray for the eternal repose of their souls. On this Memorial Day 2023, consider taking a few short moments [15] to view this just produced video on “The Finding of Father Emil Kapaun.”
Father Kapaun, pray for us!
Fr. Kapaun was awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously for his unswerving devotion to duty during the Korean War. He died a prisoner of war, but not before giving his fellow war prisoners everything he was able. The video was produced by the Knights of Columbus and tells the story of how Fr. Kapaun’s remains were finally found and identified and then in 2021 returned to his hometown of Pilsen Kansas. It all started in the waiting room of a doctor’s office..
